I had a fantastic experience with Mike and his team at Use Your Space Design & Build. From the very start, they were professional and thorough, providing detailed brochures that helped me visualize the project. The entire process was smooth, and the team delivered exactly what I was hoping for with my garage conversion. The final handover pack was a great touch, showing their attention to detail and commitment to quality. A top-class team that I’d highly recommend!

The simplest review I could make is to say that I agree with all the reviews on here. Thank you, but I won’t!

However, the story behind the job is simple – a replacement porch with the removal of the original inside door to make the hall larger. The PVC porch and front door were completely removed and a replacement brick frontage was built in its place. Security was an issue but by discussion it was resolved such that we were able to carry on at home during the works. When the original (“inside”) front door was removed, a problem was found with the floor levels which had been hidden by the original front door. This was quickly resolved by the team. During the alteration to the existing floor, they installed a temporary screen to prevent dust from circulating within the rest of the hall and stairs.

Communications were continuously available to and with us by clever use of a (free) social media platform which gives peace of mind for those who may have questions about anything to do with the works in hand. As an Engineer myself, I prepared a small snag list which by the team covered in the finishing process. Needless to say, all works were carried out professionally under the leadership of the boss Mike even extending to sub-contractors for other related works. The whole job has been completed to our satisfaction reflecting the professional and efficient methods of working by the team as a whole. Thanks Mike, Russ, Josh and Callum and including Tom and Lewis. We can thoroughly recommend UY S. Don’t hesitate to contact them if you need any building work done. Bill

Excellent Loft Conversion by Use Your Space

Mike and his team recently completed a loft conversion for us, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. From start to finish, they were professional, friendly, and efficient. They kept the workspace tidy, clearing up after themselves each day.

Mike maintained excellent communication throughout the project, providing regular updates and photos so we could see the progress, even when much of the work was out of sight. The final result exceeded our expectations, and we would not hesitate to use Use Your Space for any future extension work. Highly recommended!

Thanks Mike and your team for our extension. We had 2 bedrooms put on top of the garage space, a new bathroom and we turned our box bedroom into an en suite.
Mike and his team are all very polite and trustworthy. Mike is great at communicating throughout and has excellent knowledge on all aspects of build and design. He was able to help us with decisions and worked within our budget. He offered solutions to any problems we encountered and we trusted his advice. Thank you 👍

Mike and his team at Use Your Space were a pleasure to deal with!
They have just completed my loft conversion and from the initial
consultation with Mike to the completion of the work they were polite, friendly and hard working.

Mike co-ordinated the different phases of the work brilliantly and
made sure the building materials (all of high quality) were delivered
on time and matched the requirements of the build.
He was also on hand to make suggestions for any amendments
or alterations as we went through the process together.
This helped to take much of the stress away.
A safe pair of hands!

I would thoroughly recommend Mike and his team at UYS. Thank you!

When you appoint a team of builders you are concerned they might not do a good job despite doing your homework but we need not have worried about Mike and the team, from week one they applied themselves to our conversion. There was a high standard of workmanship and input at every stage. Mike knew all about modern techniques and standards and we felt confident in his superior knowledge. I am quite picky with an eye for detail and demanding but when necessary the team were willing to go that extra mile to undertake anything I asked or on the rare occasion any small issues I wasn’t 100% happy with. The end result is brilliant and I would happily recommend to anyone, it’s so hard to find a team that are so conscientious and willing to make the customer happy which the UYS team do. The project was made all the more difficult being such an old building with lots of different form and shape to the structure. It was worth every penny seeing how happy my children are every time we go in the room. The overall brief for the room was to be a gym area for myself, a family room and a social hub for the house so very much multi purpose, everything undertaken was nailed to how I envisaged in my mind when we first thought about doing the work. The communication was fantastic from day 1 with a what’s app group set up with every detail discussed and confirmed before the particular stage was completed, which is very refreshing as we have suffered in the past from being kept in the dark but not at all did we feel like this with Mike. We won’t hesitate to contact in future for more work.
Attached photos of end result which we are all so pleased with.

Fist class service from Mike and the team. Used them to remove a chimney brest in our main bedroom, which is a messy job. The team kept the place spotless during the removal. Full room was re-plastered and new lighting installed. No overrun on the duration on the works. Competitive price. will be looking to use the company for our next project.

Update. We are now on our 2nd project with Use Your Space. We have now had our boys bedroom re-plastered and had the ceiling covered as it had an artex finish.

Mike managed to get the job done at short notice, as we wanted to bring the job forward to coincide with half term, and the kids would be away for the week. Job done in 3 days, and to an exceptional standard. Painting still ongoing but I like doing that myself. Carpet being fitted on 11.11.24

UY S have recently completed a large loft conversion, with side dormer on our 1930’s bungalow in Earlswood. We have been extremely impressed with Mike and his brilliant team. Considering the size of this project, and the fact that we (a family of 5) lived and worked at home during the works is testament to the professionalism and reliability of this team. Mike ensured we were kept up to date of all work timelines, and any issues that occurred ( which are inevitable in any build) were met with options and solutions. The team are ALL an absolute credit to the business, and it was a pleasure to have them working in our home, they were respectful, considerate and always on time with a smile. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mike & his team to family ,
friends and others. If you are looking for a genuine company, that will listen, offer sound advice, excellent communication, and who are responsive and proactive, Use Your Space are the team you need!

Mike and his team have been professional throughout. From the first meeting with Mike I could tell he was passionate about his job and cared about the work he was going to do, so we chose him. We were glad we did because from start to finish I trusted Mike and his team. The team were honest, on time, friendly and tidy. At the end of the project we had a problem with some floorboards and Mike and his team made sure it was resolved and left correct. Communication is amazing through whatsApp and email. I have done building work in the past and the most important thing to me was to have a builder I could trust, well Mike and his- Use Your Space Design and Build team never let me down. I am so happy with the end result and he made sure we stayed within our budget. Thank you Mike and your team for your hard work and commitment to our house extension.
